I just bought the 512GB (800MB write / 780MB read) from Amazon. There was a 20% off couple so with tax it was $183

I bought several of the Sony Tough 960GB Type A cards the other day when Sony had them on sale for $440 (CAD$598). I see that deal is back on again now until September 26.

You can also get the 1TB Pergear for CAD$459. Min write of 722MB/s. The Sony has a 200MB/s sustained write. Not sure how to relate Min write to Sustained Min write...both cards have that "200" rating so they are probably similar.

Do the Sony cards have some other advantage that makes it worth paying CAD$140+tax extra?

The PerGear is a great deal. I bought my 520 in June 2023 and paid just CAD$30 less than the current price of the 1TB. 1TB didn't exist at that time. Even looking at the 520 it is now down to CAD$299. Great price for a card I've had zero issues with for over a year now.

At the time I bought my Sony cards, the Pergear cards were $20 more expensive after taxes, so choosing the Sony cards was a no-brainer.

The Pergear cards may be fine, but I learned a long time ago not to trust no-name memory cards. I don't even trust Lexar or SanDisk any more.
