I'm not sure I'd trust this brand. But they do exist and pricing is good.
https://www.amazon.com/PERGEAR-Professional-CFexpress-Memory-Recording/dp/B0C4H7SLJ1/

Odd thing is the card labels list write speeds of 400-600MB/s but one of their graphics lists them as 800-900 MB/s....looks like 400-600MB/s is the min write speed and 800-900 is the max.

80GB: $99
260GB: $189
520GB: $359

There is a 10% coupon on Amazon you can apply to lower those prices.

Anyone dare try these

Angelbird 1TB $/GB is still better and a more trusted brand. Hopefully Angelbird will bring out the smaller capacity cards.

Edit...with Amazon's easy return policy, I dared and ordered the 520 which is in stock and will arrive on Sunday. Will test and let you know how it compares to my Prograde cards.

I paid $827 CAD for 2x160GB Prograde cards and this 520GB Pergear came to $480 CAD.

If I was to order an Angelbird 1TB from B&H it would cost me ~ $770 CAD after exchange rate.

I saw this deal and was considering a purchase. Biggest concern would be reliability and not speed.

I’ve remained on the side lines of the CF express world for my camera. SD Card have accommodated for the most part my picture taking (Photography only). I have however wanted larger capacity cards and with these prices, I would be tempted to pull the trigger.

That way I could also benefit from faster download at the start of editing.

I so, and wanting to keep expenses down, how big of a difference would there be between using the camera as the reader vs a dedicated reader?

Amazon (Actually JYphoto) seems to be selling them. When I checked early today delivery was next day, a few hours later it was 8 days, now it's 17-28 days.

I have never heard of this brand, after a bit digging, it seems to be a company from China. I will pass.

Recieved my 260gb CF card with one day delivery through Amazon. Also paid the extra 30 bucks for the CF/SD card reader bundle. So far great using my A1. We shall see how it holds up.

Quick preliminary test for stills photography. I just shot a scene at 30FPS with the A1 until the buffer was hit and FPS slowed.

Pergear 520GB: 150 shots till slowdown
Prograde 160GB: 120 shots till slowdown

So with that the Pergear is winning for stills photography.

EDIT**** As I reported below, I tested again this afternoon and both cards were getting ~150 shots to the first FPS stutter point.

I assume this is to the first break point in the the frame rate. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1772033/0?keyword=cfe#16032205
Those measurements showed the first slowdown at 147 frames for both the Sony and Delkin cards. It seems the Prograde is disadvantaged at 120 frames. That's a bit surprising since all these cards seem to be capable of faster write speeds in the card reader than in the camera, so I assumed the reason for the lower write rates in camera was due to the camera not the card. That would imply that cards that have faster write speeds than the camera should all perform the same in-camera.
It's also worth noting that the first break point is not where the buffer fills. The buffer is full at the second break point. Consequently it is not clear what is the cause of the first break point. I have assumed it is Sony's firmware that is programmed to moderate the transition from 30fps to 9.8fps.

Any issues with overheating? I assume you haven't tried any video?

I just ran some more tests in the backyard. Now both cards are getting ~150 shots repeatedly so not sure why the Prograde got 120 this morning. In the morning I ran the test three times back to back and all three times the Prograde choked around 120 and the Pergear at 150. Now I just ran the test five times and both got ~150 each time. Go figure.

Card gets hot in the reader when downloading images just like the Prograde. No real difference.

For fun I recorded 8K30 on the highest bit rate with the overheat on standard and the camera shut down at the 7min20s mark from overheating. But I haven't repeated the test with the other card. Didn't have time to let everything cool down and test again. Things were smoking

Final update to this....so far very happy with the Pergear 520GB card for the price.

In my testing I can't find anything that it lacks compared to my Prograde 160GB card.

Buffer is the same, time to clear buffer after 150 shots (first stutter point) is the same.

I recorded 8K30 video for 45mins on both cards and still didn't get the overheat warning when on the higher threshold heat setting. I checked Gerald Undone's A1 review and see it can do 8K30 for well over an hour so I just stopped my test at 45mins and called it a tie.

I guess the only unknown is how easy it would be to do the warranty if needed. 5yr warranty but who knows if it is a headache. FWIW, during Prime days the discount on the card was an extra $20 in Canada so I contacted Pergear and they immediately refunded my CC via Amazon the difference. My friend bought the 260GB/reader and was having trouble with the reader and they immediately sent him another one (card was working fine and downloading direct USB from camera fine). So that gives me some hope warranty would not be too big an issue??

If you need 1TB then go Angelbird but if you want 260 or 520 I think Pergear is a great choice. I'd never spend on Prograde, Delkin or Sony again until they drop the prices.

Thank you for the review. I think I will pick up a couple of the 520s. I have Angelbird cards, which are more than enough in terms of storage, but I like having back ups for travel.

Nothing new since my update two posts above.
Just been using the card day to day and no issues to report.

I have of the 260gb cards. I used them exclusively the last 10 days (I had been using the Angelbird cards previously). I see no meaningful difference in performance. I have not done any of the tests Geoff did, but I have recorded a few hours of 4k 120p footage, and the overheating rate is not any different from Angelbird.
