p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Grackle

It was nearly two months that I could not use my camera due to tendinitis in my left arm. With most of the symptoms gone, I went out in my back yard and photographed birds that were visiting my feeder. That wet well and I'm also able to drive again. I'll start going places to take photos though take it easy. This is one of the images I took too days ago.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

Morris

Morris, you and I have similar issues… I missed 2 weekends of peak activities of and interactions between of falcon chicks and parents due to arthritis at a few joints. It is tough to get older… . You did well capturing that grackle under those conditions. Did you handhold that?

Nice to know that your recovery is getting well Morris! Take it easy for a while with the big lens
Nice picture!
We used to have lots of blue jays in our back yard, but many years ago one managed to find its way into a mouse trap. Since then not a single jay lands in the backyard; somehow the seem to know...

Thank you Joshua,
arthritis is no fun. Supplements that help with inflammation seem to help. I've missed all the nesting and births at Nickerson Beach this year. Something I was looking forward to as access has been restricted during the pandemic. I hope to get there soon and photograph the chicks and juveniles. These were taken off my tripod which is how I usually shoot.

Thank you Jacob,

My camera will be on top of my tripod with larger lenses and this is what I usually do. I think it's obvious that they talk to each other. I'm surprised they have remembered so long. It's usually only a few weeks here.

Nice sharp eye's on your grackle.

Congrats on your recovery Morris! Soft tissue injuries always seem to take the longest to heal and can bring even the sturdiest of us down. I pray you have no relapses, and only good things for you from here on out.

Thank you Eric,
I agree regarding soft tissue injuries taking a long time and we heal slower as we age. I'm glad this is mostly behind me

Thank you Louie,

Subject and eye detection makes it super easy to get the sharp eyes. The exposure is still something we need to get correct.
