The last time I bought a lens from Amazon it was shipped in a plastic bag. Not even padded. Granted the lens was in a product box, albeit the box opened and the lens was rolling around in the bag. Same thing happened to my Tascam audio interface. Both were damaged and had to be returned. Now I buy camera and audio gear from Canon Direct, B&H, Adorama, Crutchfield, and a few others that use a shipping box with packing material around delicate items.

$3700 list price for 50/1.2. Highly misleading. Although in a few years that's how much we will be asked to pay the way RF prices are going

Same. I had them exchange a lens because it was shipped in the unpadded plastic bag and opened a support chat to ask them to make a specific note to put the thing in an actual box next time. I asked several times to confirm they were able to add such a note, and they said yes.

Guess what container the next lens came in? Yeah. Not a box.

A members of a FB group I'm in shared a picture of his new RF 70-200 2.8L USM Amazon shipped: no bag no box, just the bare product box with a UPS label stuck directly on it. Man it was beat. With that said, I recently ordered sandpaper and Amazon shipped it on a big box with air pillows...
