Thanks Dan! I feel similarly... sometimes the crop is in mind when I take it, sometimes in post, but the image usually wins and dictates the crop. I try not to over think it and go with my gut, but sometimes I second guess myself after the fact. !

I guess the square is where it's at, heh. Some of that comes from all that time I spent shooting Bronica S2a 6x6 film, I still revert to old habits, though I really liked shooting 6x9 on an old rangefinder also. One lent itself more to portraits, the other, landscapes, but sometimes its fun to mix it up. When I moved on to Pentax 645, it was like Goldilocks, it seemed just right, heh. Now, with LCD screens and MS Windows & tablets pushing us to 16:9 formats, well, it's hard to resist the temptation to make screen-filling images with 16:9 widescreen crops sometimes also.
