I always find intimidating seeing blue herons piercing their victims or eating them whole as below. I dont want to be stranded in a deserted island together with a blue heron.

Nice series. They will eat just about anything. I watched this one swallow a giant black eel that I couldn't believe.

They certainly are resourceful! Probably the answer to your question is No, or at least Very Little.

Your pictures have a "peering in" quality, sharing the sort of secret world of herons (blood, guts and all) with the viewer. It works for me.
