If you're asking me, my short answer would be "very well". The 200-600 AF's just fine on my Z9 with no discernable shortcomings vs. the A1. IS is limited to the lens, of course, (i.e. no IBIS/synchro stabilization). The only major limitation I've found is that you cannot zoom quickly while maintaining focus -- the adapter appears to be too slow to relay the signals in real time. The adapter itself fits snugly which is good, but there's some rotational play that you have to be aware of. Obviously it would be best not to have to use an adapter at all, but until Nikon releases their version of this lens, the Sony is the best of all the alternatives IMO, and it's priced way below it's performance metrics IMO....Show more →
I simply don't trust adapters. Glad it's working for you but I'd pass. I have a 200-600G for sale now I've gotten out of Sony altogether. I have a 1.4x teleconverter coming that will get me very close to that reach and is 100% intentionally compatible, just as I like it. I'm even contemplating playing with a Z 2.0X TC just to see how that might work out. I've seen so many Youtubes and reviews that say it's NOT bad at all in regards to any sharpness hits. With that I would be shooting in broad daylight anyway so loss of light wouldn't phase me.
