I noticed that my A7C battery drops by 1 percent per hour when the lens is attached and the camera is turned off. No other lens, including Tamron 28-200 and 150-500 have the same issue. I can let the camera charged for several days with any other lens attached and it always stays at 100 percent. The firmware is updated.

I read similar reports, but there was no solution. Some people reported that replacing the lens helped, some other that it didn't. I remember that Samyang 135/F1.8 had the same issue, but it has been fixed by a firmware update.

Techart adapters had similar issues because software updates were done after the camera was shutdown, The solution if you did not plan an update was to eject the battery, The techart then stopped drawing power, After a few second put it back.

No idea if this will solve your g2 issue, worth a try perhaps!

Thanks, but the lens has USB-C port for all the settings and updates. No firmware update via the camera body.

It didn't help. I also tried to reset the settings or set the lens buttion function to something else.

I am wondering if there is anyone else with the same issue? I read that even replacing the lens (with a new one having almost similar serial number) didn't help, it looks like there are some bad batches?

This isn't the feedback you asked for but I checked mine today because the thread made me curious, left it on the A9 with 37% at 1500, checked it now 6hrs later, picked it up and took a couple of shots, still at 37%. Edit. We could compare serial# if it would be of any use

Right, late last year here, EU too, 0984xx, fw 01. Hmm, I wasn't aware there had been an update. The only description of it is to enable the lens to be updated (in the future) with the Android mobile app.

The issue has just disappeared in last week. I don't know why, haven't changed anything. Maybe a loose contact or something.

I was doing a search today and found this, because my A7riii was at 7% this morning with the G2 attached. I hadn’t used it in a few days and don’t piput it away at 7%.

I've been using a G2 on an A7IV extensively for about 3.5 months now. Brand new U.S. market lens from B&H. No battery drain.
