I wonder if anyone tried mounting their Leica M mount glass on a Nikon Z body with an adapter?

Yes, I use m glass on my Z6 from time to time. I enjoy messing about with interesting old glass. Not so much the Uber expensive m stuff.

I have on my Z7, but after the novelty wore off that I could, Leica lenses are much better on my Leica Ms. And Nikon lenses are much better on my Z7 than the Leica stuff.

Yes, I have a fair bit. Is there anything you would like to know about the experience in particular? Some lenses work well (e.g., CVM 15 f/4.5; CVM 75 f/1.5; Zeiss ZM 85 f/4), other lenses don't work nearly as well as on the Leica M (e.g., 21 SEM; CVM 28 f/2 II; 35 Lux FLE; 50 Lux Asph; CVM 50 f/2 APO).

I use Leica 50/2 apo, 90/2 apo and Zeiss 35/1.4ZM quite a bit on Z bodies.

If you happen to have Leica lenses, why not trying it out and buy an adapter. There is one now which reads the lens coding. TT Artisans, I believe. As others wrote, some senses work pretty well, but the question is always for what purpose. For really technical stuff, I would not really bother and would use Z lenses. For portraits and more mood oriented photos, some of these lenses are really quite nice. I like for example the Zeiss Sonnar 50.

I've tried it and didn't like the experience. As Desmolicious said, Leica lenses are much better on M bodies.

My light set-up is cv21/3.5, cv40/1.2, summicron 50/2, 7artisans 75/1.25 in Leica mount.
Sometimes I use the megadap, but lately just a dumb adapter.

I agree and I much prefer to use Leica M lenses on a Leica M body, but while I was saving up for a Leica M body, I was glad to be able to use some Leica M lenses on a Z body.
