Tried to make some lemonade. I think I need some help, Karl.

This doe, for whatever reason, was completely at ease. This photo is uncropped. She came even closer, but the 200-600 doesn't have great close-focus.

The gosling was cropped a bit, but the goldfinch was cropped a significant amount.

All were RAW through LR.

Well, you definitely nailed the focus on the deer's eyes. Such a shallow DOF at that distance that the nose is soft.

Hey Scott you are good on #1

You have the eye in focus and that works and a lovely background. As pointed out DOF is minimal that close, the 200-600 does fine focusing closer than some other long primes.
A tighter crop on #2 would strengthen you subject IMO as wood the last.
