Real nice catch Ted. The perfect exposure in nice light really shows off the great detail in the blue and black colors.

Their iridescent colors when the sun hits them just right pops.

The same could be said about the common Pigeon we see in big cities.

That old camera was top of the line in 2020. Quality of images may also have to do with the person behind the shutter button.

It would be hard to tell from these photos unless you knew where the photo was taken. Boat-tailed Grackles can have light colored eyes along the Atlantic coast but southern Florida and Gulf coast birds have dark colored eyes.
