Some people clearly are. Funny how they lash out at ghosts in every thread only to be totally ignored. Must be a lonely existence.

If I were a fanboy of that other system, I wouldn't have put $20K on the line.

Douglas, welcome to the land of insecurity.
We (myself included), have been used to a handful of Sony trolls in 2021, 2022 constantly bashing Nikon in the Nikon forum.
As a result, we've developed a "look at me wrong and I will have you cancelled" attitude.

Please don't take any of this seriously!
Just label those OOF images as "abstract art".

You feel you've offended me ? There's nothing you could do or say regarding something as trivial as camera equipment that could trigger me. I've flown back and forth to California I'm not sure how many times this summer, leaving again tonight, to help my daughter through 16 chemo sessions. And by doing so I'm leaving my wife with Parkinsons home alone. I'm not playing any cards here I'm just an open person and that's the harsh reality. Trust me, I've got other things more pressing than camera gear. I've been a bit more active here lately in an attempt at a diversion. I'm used to working every day but that stopped because of the traveling I've been doing and I'm not used to having time on my hands. I can see that's been a mistake
I just found it interesting that you went ahead and said you didn't want to open a can of worms but then proceeded to smash the can open with your posted images. I don't give a rat's ass what brand of camera gear people prefer. No worries Douglas. I regret my response. Forgive me for helping to take the lid off the can in the first place

Well - I need to hurry up before Z8 gets the new firmware. Now it nails my duck shots with only 95% accuracy. I might have trouble finding OOF ones later.

I saw your post and took no offense but I did wonder why. I have many OOF images from A1 and never felt the need nor desire to post them on an images presentation thread on the Sony forum.

Man, I was hoping this IMAGE thread would be just that, images, not "politics" (we have so many other threads for that on FM)

Looks like I kicked a hornet's nest. Why would I come here to trash the toys I just paid $20K for, think of it. Sorry if I rub you the wrong way. These are some of the very first images I got with this setup, some are really good (by my standard), some not so much, just wanted to share my first impression, that's all. Totally didn't expect the response. Sorry again.

Anyway, a few shots from this morning. I didn't know what the star was in the first shot until I read later it was the Venus. I am very impressed by Nikon's image stabilization system, BTW. I shot Nikon in the past, D610, D610, D750, D810, D7200, D500. The Nikon 500mm f4 was the only big tele I had that time.

Thanks for clearing that up, much appreciated. You may have gathered there's a bit of history. But goodness, that equipment is in very good hands, these are beautiful.

Thank you very much, Alistair!

A few more from the outing few days ago. I will keep playing with it to see how it goes.

Just got a Z9 a few weeks ago and I love it. The R3 has not come out of the cabinet since. I think my favorite thing about this camera thus far is the ability to almost use any lens I want. All my EF glass works so well, it feels native. I used to shoot Nikon DSLR's years ago and have always missed the files the 850 and D5/D6 produced. Particularly the B&Ws! I have that feel again with the Z9. I also appreciate a solid feeling, heavier camera body. The R5/R3 feel great and are top tier cameras, but this Z9 feels a slight step above in build quality. The only Nikon lenses I have still, are the 180-400 F4 and a new 70-200 2.8 S I picked up at the same time as the z9.

After playing with it a few weeks and getting the feel again, I'm going to sell off some RF gear and stick with having a little bit of both systems. Each camp has an incredible amount to offer.

Nikon z9 with the Fringer adapter and Canon EF 85 1.4 IS L. This combo works so well. Even tracks with no issues.

Do you happen to have a 135L? I’ve been super curious how that adapts.

I did at one point but not anymore. With the way the others work, I would be hard pressed to believe it wouldn't function just as well.

The only issues I've seen with any of my EF lenses adapted has been with the 600 IS II. When a fast moving subject is coming directly at the camera , and at close distances, it cant keep up. The AF is slightly back focused on many shots. Anything moving laterally or away from the camera is excellent. Anything stationary is basically 100% hit rate and very fast acquisition. I'm going to try a friends 600 IS III to see if that works better with the faster AF motors, etc.
