By default, all of LR Mobile's editing is done on Preview files. When you export an edited photo, the original file (.RAF, say) is downloaded, the edits are applied, and then the photo is saved as JPG to the local storage.

Ah I see - you mean the LR Smart Preview not the FujiFilm preview image. There is a big difference between Smart Previews based on raw files versus Smart Previews based on jpgs.

Yes -- my comments were in the context of Lightroom.

No editing can be performed in the X App (where I presume "FujiFilm preview images" are located).

The FujiFilm previews are stored in the image files (raw or jpg) that Lightroom reads - nothing to do with the xApp.

Lightroom smart previews are different from previews.

Seems to be working for me now (Galaxy S22 Ultra) after turning on gesture hints in the settings. No more black screen upon startup.

Yeah, I never intended there to be any confusion or for anyone to think I was referring to something other than a smart preview. I've never heard of "FujiFilm previews".

So the X App is back, also for Android, but I can't get it because my phone is "not supported". My phone is just a couple of years old. Well, thanks for nothing, Fujifilm!

Yes, it has returned to the Google Play Store. Was thinking of dabbling with it this morning, but Fuji has pulled the firmware update for the GFX100S from their support section, and doesn't know when it will be back, so the X-app is useless to me (they aren't supporting the X-H1 as well). The GFX100S is not an old camera.

Hard to imagine a worse start after talking something up. Makes you wonder if Fuji employs more than one software engineer.

This app+camera combo (XE4, X App) paired with my Pixel 7 is my first wireless Fuji experience. If this is an upgrade, holyyyyyy shiiiiiiii, the old app must have been a disaster. I will say the connection seems very stable and reliable, but the whole process is incredibly slow. It *says* that it's transferring over wifi, but it's just SO SLOWWWW. It's cool that I can transfer 4K videos, but whoa it's so slow it's basically useless.

My connection has worked will pretty well since I turned off the private wifi setting(iPhone). It's not fast but it has been reliable which is much more than I can say for the previous app.
