Just downloaded. No idea how good/bad it is so if you hate it - don’t blame me!

Rather limited number of models supported.

Note that you'll probably need to do a FW update on your camera for this app, I had to get my X100v to 3.0

That said, it's MUCH easier to register a camera with Bluetooth and wifi seems to work MUCH more reliably on this new version.

The remote control portion is fairly useless in Bluetooth, it's simply a remote shutter release. Wifi mode is much better with full control of settings from the app including tap to focus!

It works!

As Scott has already noted, some bodies will need a firmware update to enable compatibility with the new app (my X-T3 needed v5.0).

100% in agreement with Scott - still not "amazing" but much, much, much better than the old one (actually usable ).

Works great on my 100S.

It's actually a usable remote trigger now.

I like how easy it is to back up your camera's settings to the app on your phone.

I hope it works well. I'll give it a try today. The previous iteration had mixed results when used with the X-Pro3.

I've struggled with it since the X-T2, definitely nice to see some improvements here!

The hardest part always seemed to be the BT to WiFi handoff which works well now.

Yes, its quick(er) and feels a heck of a lot more solid. Before the success rate for me was ~10%. So far with the new app it is 100%.

So far, so good. Updated the T5 & 100S firmware via the old app.

Connected to new Xapp. Took a few shots remotely and transferred some old images.

Pity that the X-H1 and T2 won’t be compatible but as long as they somehow keep the old app on life support it’ll be fine.

Curious to try the new af / recognition capabilities of the X-T5. I’m not a bbf guy though…

“ Subject detection enhancement by AI (Artificial Intelligence).

(1) Current subject detection function improvement
Subject detection performance has been greatly improved in situations that were difficult to detect with the current firmware, such as “backlighting”, “looking sideways”, and “small subjects”. The subject detection function can be used more than ever, regardless of the scene.
(2) New subject category added “Insect” and “Drone” detection is newly realized In addition to the existing “Face”, “Eyes”, “Animal”, “Bird”, “Automobile”, “Motorcycle & Bike”, “Airplane” and “Train”. Insects can be detected by setting the subject as “Bird” and drones can be done by setting it as “Airplane”.
Dynamic tracking performance enhancement by the improved AF algorithm.

(1) The motion prediction algorithm has been improved to enable stable tracking of subjects moving at high speed in the frame.
(2) The AF focusing speed has been improved when continuous shooting is started by simultaneously pressing the AF-ON button and the release button while the camera is out of focus. The AF starts to focus at a faster rate than before, even in situations where the situation changes moment by moment, such as in sports.
(3) This makes it difficult to miss a shutter release opportunity, even in situations such as sports where the situation changes from moment to moment.”

I downloaded the app, but it wanted access to everything on my phone and wouldn't complete the installation unless I agreed to everything, so I ended up having to delete it. Fortunately, after the latest update the older Camera Remote app provides all the features I want and works flawlessly.

Did the update on my X-S10 and was able to use it twice today. No failures. Fast too.

I updated to latest firmware on my XT5 and downloaded
the new remote x app. Went well no issues. I now can
access the remote app and can trigger my camera.
Will test it out over the next few weeks but appears
to be faster and more efficient.

I had the opportunity to test out the latest version of the X-Pro3 app (v2.0), and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. I have not tried all features but the app functions flawlessly, and I'm particularly impressed with the added features. Not only that, but the connection speed and reliability have greatly improved. Fuji has done an exceptional job with this update. Kudos to them!

When I try to install the new X App, all I get is the old, dysfunctional Camera Remote. Can anyone who uses Android phones confirm that the new app is available for Android as well?

Just checked the Google Play store and it is not available, just the old, disfunctional, Camera Remote app. An auspicious beginning for this app...

I would have to manually update the firmware on the GFX100S anyway since the Camera Remote app has never been able to carry out this task.

Using a Google Pixel phone with Android 13. This should be about as close as you can get to stock Android and should be compatible. We shall see, I am not confident.

The new X App has apparently been pulled. It’s not available on either the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Haven’t heard an explanation yet. I removed the app from my iPhone, and will wait to see what happens.

Here's the explanation: https://fujifilm-x.com/global/global-news/2023/0525_4215680/

It's working fine on my 100S. Fuji says if it's working, you can carry on safely.

Looks like it’s been taken down. Getting an unavailable error message.

Thanks for the heads up on this. It is working on my X-E4, but I'll stop using it for now & wait for the patched version of X App.

Yeah, the new app seems to be getting wildly mixed reviews. Fuji probably rushed it out for the X-Summit presentation and had to take it back to squash bugs and add features.

I didn't upgrade to new FW and new app yesterday. Will continue waiting for a while since both old FW and old app work just fine for me.
