Just saw that my local camera store put up an advertisement for the new Fuji X-S20. Price is €1350 ($1299 in the US).

Specs look interesting to me, especially the webcam functionality and the 7 stops of image stabilization. Guess it won't have improved autofocus however, which is a bummer.

I really liked the X-S10 when I had it, much more than I expected. This one addresses some of the little issues I had with the 10.

I like my X-S10 and use it as a walkabout camera. I like what I see/read about the new X-S20. However, I see no reason to upgrade. Do any of my fellow X-S10 shooters plan to upgrade?

$300 price increase is a bummer. Given the new processor, much better battery life and apparently impressive video capabilities it might be justifiable but at $1300 it gets into high-end APS-C body terrirory. I have been considering getting an X-S10 as companion to my X-T3. But X-S20 at $1300 is too expensive for that role. Also at that price point I would definitely want better than the 0.62x 2.3M EVF.

If you can find an X-S10 used, you will not be disappointed.

6K 4:2:2 is kind of niche. Some will find good use for it but it's not like something every video shooter needs. You might want to get the camera for its newer AF and battery upgrade. The W235 battery is really reliable and can get most people a whole day of snaps.

From someone who primarily uses manual focus cameras and yells at his models to stop moving, that AF sure looks good!

That's how I use my X-T4 like 99% of the time when I am shooting stills. Hidden LCD makes sense thematically with X-T's dials too. I normally shoot priority modes but the point still stands.

I just got X-S10 used last week as my first Fuji X camera considering that X-S20 would probably not have any important upgrades for my use case (based on rumors) and it was the correct decision as I just intend to use the camera with manual focus Voigtländer X-mount lenses and adapted rangefinder lenses and I think for those use cases X-S20 didn't bring so many important updgrades and the price would be much higher once it becomes available to buy in Japan.

I've found the battery life on X-S10 to be quite decent when just shooting with Manual Focus and I bought one spare battery just in case I ever need it. The new battery and improved screen would have been slightly relevant upgrades for me but not so important. Also the 1-stop IBIS improvement and memory card UHS-II compatibility are there but IBIS has been good for my use so far and I think any small improvement wouldn't be so big deal, and I just shoot single shots with MF with the camera so the memory card speed never becomes an issue.

Most of the upgrades seem to be on the video side and I don't shoot any video.

It worked out well with my X-S10 purchase (initially I was looking to buy X-E4 but those are just available at very inflated prices mostly in the 2nd hand market). Used X-S10 have been popping up at Map Camera frequently in the last few weeks and they get bought up pretty quickly too. I got mine from there.

Interesting camera, a little expensive for a X-S but with the specs it is not out-of-reason either. For me the snail EVF is almost a no go but need to try it at least. To be honest, I just wanted Fuji to put this Xtrans4 sensor into the XT5 and it would have been my dream camera but this 40Mp is presenting quite some challenge for speed/buffer/diffraction. Anyway can’t have everyone happy. Cheers everyone

Not a camera for me, it seems that is directed at the (trendy) vlogging world, and in that case I think Fuji nailed it (may be the best current camera in this category?)

I had a X-S10 and I didn't like it. Sad to see that my biggest gripe with it continues on the X-S20: the low spec EVF with a stupidly short eye-relief. But it makes sense now that I see it as a vlogging camera, the EVF is rarely used within the target market.

Besides the major upgrades regarding video, AF and battery, there are some interesting little quality of life improvements, like the bigger buttons and 1 extra stop IBIS. I'm curious to see if the IBIS is better regarding "jumping" all around when moving the camera in video (the X-S10 was very problematic in this regard). Still didn't saw/read any report on this and it's an important thing to the target audience.

Also, let's see if the AF issues (front/back focus) that are being reported with some lenses on the X-T5 are here too. This is a problem that existed since the X-T2/X-Pro2/X-T20/X-H1 gen of cameras and it's kind of sad seeing that Fuji still wasn't able to get it right. Looks like they're so focused on getting subject tracking working as well as other brands that they forgot something as basic and crucial as focus precision on AF-S.

What interests me more bout this camera is what will be translated to future cameras like the X-T40, X-E5 and specially the X-Pro4. I do hope all of them get the same "old" 26MP sensor with the new processor, I prefer faster readout and less buffer constraints than "brute-force" resolution. Would be nice to see Fujifilm moving to the bigger battery on all cameras too. Hoping for a good performance on the small IBIS unit, I can see it on a X-Pro4 (I'm guessing the X-T40 and X-E5 will not get it).

I'm extremely annoyed at myself for not waiting for this to come out before I snatched a Z6ii on a killer deal. I'm really tempted to go back to Fuji with this camera. Seems to have the perfect mix of capabilities for a hobbyist like me.
