The new RF 28/2.8 pancake is now shipping in the US... wonder if it's available on your side of the pond before you head out on your family adventure....?
If you have time, test the 24-105 STM to be sure it meets your needs/expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by my copy which came with the used R6 I bought. But it's a bit inconsistent across the zoom range in respect to peripheral image sharpness, mine being weakest in the 50-70 range. But maybe for what you're doing and expecting, it won't really matter?
Anyway, curious why the LX100 (first version?) and RP with 24-105 STM, which results in virtually the same coverage? Even though the LX100's lens is faster, once you consider equivalency, the old m43 sensor it uses, and other factors, it's not that much of a difference from the STM:

If the LX100 is going to be your go-to walk around camera, then perhaps differentiate the RP somehow? Ditch the 24-105 and bring a few small, fast primes? Yes, the RF 50/1.8, but perhaps also the EF 100/2 you have (plus EF-RF adapter) and toss in the RF 16/2.8 for UWA coverage. This will give you a true low light and wide aperture/shallow DOF option.
If it was me, I'd still stick with my original suggestion of keeping it all EOS-M. ...Show more →
I’ve found a reason to take the lumix…
I’m intending taking a Lego man along for the trip
Lego man at the airport, on the plane, at the hotel, bars, beach, disco etc etc
Yesterday I tried the LX100 3cm close focus at 24mm using f16 shows pretty clearly what’s happening around, the few test shots I tried came out brilliant
So, I’m all set, he doesn’t know, but he’s gonna make a chance meeting with Lego girl in Portugal! 😂
My head is now bursting with funny concepts
It’s reignited my passion, I have a goal, a story to tell…I can’t wait 😎👍🏻
