Iím seeing prices for the 850 all over the place, what is a fair price for a 850 body with a 23,000 shutter count? I hope to post it here soon

I know this is at best half true, but it seems to me that pricing for anything F-bayonet is all over the place

If you look at somewhere like mpb.com, they are currently priced between $1600 and $1999, but they also have 76 of them, which tells me they are not selling at that price. For comparison, there are 15 used Z7s between $1400-$1600. Obviously the Z8 is going to further saturate the used market for D850s. I think if the D850s settle around 1,000-1,400 in the next year, they are a steal, but with used z7ii prices starting to drop near the sub 2k line, the D850 within $500 of that isn't a good buy.

Just for the body, most recent sold listings are around $1,600 USD.

Pretty sure I sold mine for $2,300 CAD which is around $1,700 USD, but that was a year ago.

If I am looking for a D850 I naturally want low actuations and excellent condition. I will go down to very good condition.

If it is high actuations, I want a real good deal on it or I'm not buying it. On second thought, I would not buy a high actuation DSLR.

But what actuation number is considered to be high ? I sure do not know.

Yup, and it is going to go down more with all the Z8 buyers.

Just checked mine and surprise for me......

My D850 has 86,500 actuations.

Did not think I shot that much.

And the shutter and mirror box are original.

I guess I'll keep the trusty old friend

If one doesnít shoot moving subjects, I agree. But if a person does shoot things that move, a D850 is likely to be more capable. (I havenít shot a Z7II, so this is based on what seems to me to be a consensus view among Z7II shooters; even if the AF has improved with firmware updates, the Z7II canít match the D850 for action.)

The other scenario in which it makes sense is if a person has a large stable or F mount glass and doesnít want to move to mirrorless or canít afford to switch. Then a D850 is much more valuable than a Z7ii.
