Hello,
I'm new to the forum and have found great information here. I'm looking for lens recommendations for my upcoming Safari in Kenya and Tanzania in July. Hoping that folks that have been on safari in this region will have some suggestions. Below is my itinerary:
Aberdare, Great Rift Valley, Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro.
My Gear: Sony A7RM4, Sony A9II, Sony 200-600, Sony 100-400, Tamron 17-28, Sony 135f1.8, Sony 85f1.8, Sony 35f1.4
I need to get something to cover the 24-100/200 range and I'm having a tough time deciding between the 200-600 and 100-400. I feel like this decision will determine the other lens/lenses I purchase. I listed the primes but probably won't bring them due to weight restrictions. Is the 200-600's reach really worth it for where i'm going or will I be fine with the 100-400? Please share any and all suggestions, even if its to use what I have. Some combos I have considered getting.
With the 100-400
Sony 24-70 GMII or Tamron 28-75 G2. Also, maybe the Tamron 35-150??
With the 200-600
Sony 24-70 GMII or Tamron 28-75 G2.
Sony 70-200 GMII or Tamron 70-180 or Tamron 35-150
Thanks!...Show more →
