I see mockingbirds and blue jays chasing bigger birds like red shoulder hawks, ravens and crows in the sky, presumably after invading their nests for a snack, and you just look and think, that crazy little bird is out matched. I guess this is the outcome when you push too far.
Great shots, some are kind of hard to look at for those of us that kept birds a good part of our life, but that's nature for you...thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Those big birds get harassed a lot! Think red was there for the gophers, but an opportunity is an opportunity so you take it. Still can’t figure out what kind of bird it was.
