Red-tailed hawk with a morning meal. Tucson, AZ. A few other shots of the hawk, and resident Cooper's hawks, included as well. The hawk was hanging out a little too close to a Cooper's hawk nest in the days before the feeding photo, and the resident male Cooper's took the much larger bird to task for being in the neighborhood.

All but 4 very sharp and all well composed Jeffry. Some may be bothered by these photos yet they do represent the reality of nature.

4 was a moment as the bird tried escaping, I'll accept the movement in the frame for the moment Thank you!

Great documentary of a neighborly dispute gone bad. The RedTail was having none of it! Wow.

I see mockingbirds and blue jays chasing bigger birds like red shoulder hawks, ravens and crows in the sky, presumably after invading their nests for a snack, and you just look and think, that crazy little bird is out matched. I guess this is the outcome when you push too far.

Great shots, some are kind of hard to look at for those of us that kept birds a good part of our life, but that's nature for you...thanks for sharing.

Incredible series. My favorites are the last three.

As good as it is, something about the first one makes me think of a gruesome Pez dispenser.

Thank you! Those big birds get harassed a lot! Think red was there for the gophers, but an opportunity is an opportunity so you take it. Still can’t figure out what kind of bird it was.

You described it perfectly! As soon as I saw the word Pez in your response it was like YES! Thank you!

Thanks so much! The whole series that one is taken from is pretty intense.

You've photographically documented action most of us will never see. Well done.
