Egret studies its reflection intently, or more likely, looking for a bit to eat under that water.

Yeah, it was the latter choice.

Ibis catches a young dog... fish.

We usually throw dog-fish back, they are all head and teeth when they get larger, not much meat and I've never heard anyone say they taste good. Maybe Ibis know something I don't, because he's swallows it...whole. Hmmm, that's one way to avoid the taste.

Comments welcome.
Eric

PS: I hope you don't mind me having fun with the titles sometimes when making a post here. Not all the time of course, but some pic's just lend themselves to it, and I get a chuckle out it. I hope some here do as well.

Nicely exposed and detail showing whites Eric. Nice poses, a little suggestion is to consider working comps from being centered. Really fine shots and the title fun is good for a few chuckles

I love to have fun with titles Eric. I agree with Karl regarding exposures and also composition. It looks like the ibis are getting nice meals and the great egret an m&m for dinner.

You made me look 😊. Seriously, love a good sense of humor and clever titles.
Really nice set . As other have said, beautiful exposures and detail on the whites.

Thanks Karl! Thanks for the comments as well. I admit, I do tend to crop more towards the center of some subjects in post processing. If the subject is moving, I tend to leave more negative space in front of the subject to give it room to move into, so to speak, but static shots, it depends on the environment. I shot 6x6 Bronica S2A and Pentax 645 doing portraits and weddings for so long I kind threw the rule of thirds out the window years ago, because you can't zoom a small print like a computer screen, and clients wanted to see details and people's faces heh heh. It's a hard habit to break, but thanks again to you and others that have mentioned it, I'm going work on it. (though there is a large batch in the queue I'm probably not going to reprocess)

Thanks Morris, appreciate it. Ibis are good hunters with that long beak...and see above.

Gotcha! Heh, Thanks much Birdie, my best friend growing up was nicknamed birdie, I need to call him, haven't spoken in ages... I tended to expose for highlights -.7 for white birds in sunlight on my Pentax gear, with Sony I'm finding I can probably get by with -.3 exp comp. Still learning new things, which keeps it all interesting. Thank heaven for RAW files with latitude that let us tweak on them.

You pulled me in Eric to a very well captured set of images. Terrific job with exposures.
