Came across this nest today while out for a walk.
I first heard them when I was strolling through the woods a bit away from the lake and if you never heard these
guys they are really loud!
When I first approached the lake they were facing me but were back lit so I made my way around to the other side.
Quite the hike and by the time I got there, there was only one on the nest. I thought for sure the other one flew off.
So I thought I'd stick around to get the mate flying in and get some action shots. 3 hours about past and he(she?) came out of the near by tall weeds. Never flew off and just walked back to the nest. In those few hours I did get to see egg behavior.
Pushing the eggs around, flipping them, sitting, readjusting. So still cool to watch.
Took a few years off so only been back in the field for a week or so.
CC welcomed. First time shooting at 600mm(2xTC), handheld, all cropped to some extent.
