Here are some pictures of small critters we came across during a fun night hike we had into a rainforest in Costa Rica lowlands...

All shot with Sony A1 with 90mm Macro, with a single Godox flash in a small softbox, handheld off camera...

1. Oblong-winged Katydid

2. Weevil Beetle (?)

3. Xenogryllus Marmoratus Cricket (?)

4. Bush Cricket (?)

5. Dictyophara Planthopper (?)

6. Another Katydid (?)

7. Spider

8. Millipede

9. Bulimulus Snail

10. Another katydid (?)

11. Leafcutter Ant

12. Another Spider...

Thanks a lot KD... Honestly I have no idea! Unfortunately my knowledge on these small critters is next to zero! And the captions I have included are just based on my image searches on Google

These are great ! Particularly #4 and #7. I'd imagine there's no end to creepy/crawly subjects in that forest.

All of the insects you've labeled as katydids, are katydids. The bushcricket is also a katydid. Tettigoniidae are commonly called Katydids, Bushcrickets ( they are not crickets ), and Longhorned Grasshoppers (they're also not grasshoppers). Nice job.

Thanks a lot Chris... Yes, all one photo and basic processing in C1Pro+PS... No stacking or anything...
