p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Stacking software for macro ?

So I've been doing some pretty big stacks, but my camera stacks them for me, and creates a JPG only.... Which are great, for determining which ones came out the best, and are worth manually processing as a RAW file.
But I tried manually stacking 100 RAW files, and my PC couldn't do it ☹️ l mean, I know that is a TON of info, but surely their must be a program that can take 100 or more RAW files, and turn them into a single stacked RAW file... Or a DNG, or uncompressed TIF.
Any suggestions

Zerene and Helicon are the best known. Zerene won't do RAW input but Helicon will. I have both and for results and ease of operation recommend Helicon.

I process my images as TIFFs (full size) then save and re-size as JPEGs after processing in PS, including with some plug-ins..

I convert to TIFFs in DxO Pro 9. It is a dated version but was given free and does all I need.

As for stacks, some folks may a series of small stacks and then combine them.

I use both Helicon Focus and Zerene Stacker. Helicon is by far the easier of the two to use with a modern, easy to understand interface. I've stacked up to about 200 600mb 16bpc tiffs at a time. Takes a while - maybe an hour or so but it gets done. On occasion I've had to do sub stacking and the stack those resultant sub stacks in a two step process, and sometimes weird stuff just happens that you need to fix after the fact, but if I had to go with only one stacking app it would be Helicon hands down.
