With a look of determination on this Osprey's face, it rotates its razor-sharp talons to the fore.

Impact! This Osprey has grabbed the ultimate prize, a giant... clod of dirt and nesting seaweed?!

Flapping the full extent of its majestic mighty wings, this Osprey works hard to lift off with it's heavy load.

I believe I am spotted, and this Osprey looks ready to defend its catch if need be.

Just look how this Osprey wisely angles this dirt clod into the wind for the best aerodynamic advantage.

OK, OK, heh heh... It was just too good to resist. Mark has nothing to fear from this hack.

. I totally dig and respect Mark Smith, and I felt safe with this bit of fun.

Lately if you watch his YouTube channel, he's had all kinds of crazy stuff like a Pelican trying to eat an Ospreys catch, including the Osprey still attached to the fish, in the Pelicans big bucket mouth! Osprey pulling up giant flounder, even a small shark. Just crazy, awesome stuff.

As I reflected on the cost of my new A7RV and 200-600mm G OSS being put to such good use, my dirt clod felt pretty lame in comparison, but the ridiculousness of it all made me laugh out loud, standing there by the water, and how can you put a price on that?

Well done...you got a laugh out of me...good fun. I know Mark and have seen his work...definitely a story teller and some amazing captures...

These are great...reminds me of a time in the Outer Banks...I was following to Ospreys pulling a nest...had great access, close to the action and all the ospreys were bring back to the next was twigs and seaweed....not one fish...lol...

Thanks Scott! Glad you got a chuckle. I'm the opposite coast of Florida from Mark, and I keep saying I've got to make time to go on one of his Osprey Photo shoots he advertises on his website. Yeah, sometimes the Force is with us, other times Murphy is with us.

Look up https://www.dvwildlife.com, Dick is a great friend and he will take you out on a boat...the action at his location is incredible....lots of bald eagles and ospreys, plus much more...

I checked out his website, looks like a great time, still on the other coast... about a 3 and a half hr drive, not too bad but I'd prolly have to go a day early since I'm guessing his shoots start at O-Dark Thirty in the morning. Prices look reasonable too... now I just need to find the time to escape work, heh. Thanks Scott!
