Our "visions", be it photographically or otherwise, are being lost! I did not like this website but its presence brought at least something other to consider!

another Amazon owned technology going on the junk heap. that is of course if it isn't sold. Wickr is another example. shutting down in December

There was one great mode I recall whom unfortunately passed away some years ago. :/

I did find some help there from time to time when Google would point me to a relevant thread. the bit of time i tried to regularly read the forums they did not seem like a happy place.

The reviews always seemed biased to me, or too heavily focused on one nitpick to the exclusion of all else. As if there was an agenda behind each one. But that's just my opinion. Still don't like to see photography sites go away. I wonder if those two guys will pop up with a new site and channel?

Sorry to see this happening. While I wasn't a frequent forum participant there, I have come to rely on their reviews as a point of data on equipment over the years.

I hope that the reviewing staff lands on its feet somewhere.

A few years after Amazon bought DPR they commercialized the site with links on Amazon and use of DPR reviews on Amazon product pages. DPR briefly had a "camera bag" feature where members listed their gear and goals for buying new stuff—I assume to target members with ads and offers. You could buy photographic products directly on the DPR site. I bought Canon batteries and a lens when they were discounted for your first purchase. The direct sales feature was abandoned after a couple years and Amazon apparently sees little commercial value in the vast amounts of information and mammoth photographic communities therein.

As community service, Amazon should sell the site for $1 to a co-op of its members and let it continue on in some form.

Everyone posting here has a valid point BUT...are we leaving out personal response to photography?
Photography is very subjective. People respond on the Techinques" intermingled with own perspective,, IMHO,... Look at the image thru the eyes of the poster.

They cover some areas just not seen much here, yet, perhaps dividing up some areas too granularly. They need/needed a Dead Horse and Drum forum to which certain members or topics could be banished.

That's nice to see. A lot of people seem to like them, they are actually from my LCS but they aren't around the store as much with their DPR commitments. I personally found their content cringey and difficult to watch as a result, but I am probably in the minority there and I have nothing at all against them. I think I just prefer a more objective, data-driven review style with a greater focus on the technical aspects, but for the average viewer just trying to learn some basics about whatever they were reviewing, I think they did a good job. One thing many people requested was for them to have brief written summaries to accompany the YouTube reviews - not everyone wants to sit through a 20 minute production, but they omitted that on purpose to prop up views (probably a DPR decision and not Chris & Jordan's call). So that is one thing I hope changes with their move to PetaPixel - I am hoping their videos are used to compliment review articles rather than replace them.

At least one highly-seasoned photography veteran I followed from photocamel to dpreview (when pc became a sewer, and then disappeared) has no plan to move to a new forum. What a shame, people like that - highly-skilled, knowledgeable, level-headed and thoughtful - are a rich resource, now gone.

They are the perfect pair for casuals to glean helpful info about various cameras. There are far better technical resources for people who know more about cameras. They have great chemistry and seem to enjoy what they do.

Intolerance galore!

Some folks, when they find a site that they deem less favorable, simply don't visit that site.

Other's apparently find it less favorable, yet feel the need to visit it anyway, as if it was forced upon them, so that they can bad-mouth it, and wish its demise, even though other folks do find useful information there.
