Well, I just recently acquired ON1 2023 and being that I haven’t been able to do much shooting as of late, decided to go back and find some old raw files, which has been a lot of fun, actually, and see what I could do with them with this AI platform. I’m not letting the software do all the work by any means, because I don’t necessarily find the results appealing in most cases. There’s quite a learning curve, but it is very very interesting and amazing at the sharpening and noise reduction. Some of the images I’m working with are from D200s and D300s and even before that, so between me and those early Nikons some of the images needed some help. Some things I see I like, and other things I’m not so sure about but you can be the judge, this AI is a bit hard to digest… But then again at 77 years old, I have a hard time digesting my breakfast, lol.

The first looks great Terry. There is a bit of a fuzzy edge to the eagles heads in the second which is otherwise very sharp and well composed.

Hello there old friend good to see you learning something new

The first results are pleasing. The second one has as mentioned severe halo around subjects and some serious artifacting between the two eagles on the BG in the V of the tree. Maybe a combo of a large crop as well?

It is interesting to do this sort of thing. As others have said the first one looks great. Lots of artifacts in the second one.

Hi guys…have been missing because of internet problems 🤬 Anyway, yes it is true as you have pointed out, the first one is a sad failure, perhaps my fault for some poor masking. I did much of my editing on my laptop without the bigger monitor and the flaws are more illusive on that setup. Oh well… back to the drawing board as the saying goes 😁
The first one did stand up pretty well though…and thank you all for the comments. I’ll see if I can harness some of these skills a bit better as time goes on.
