A GM version would be great - just improve the contrast by using better quality glass, it is more than sharp enough as it is - don't change anything else with the otherwise perfect zoom.

Erm, how about adding linear focusing motors (current version is SSM), some sort of zoom lock mechanism, better overall balance, a better hood, closer focusing capability... there's plenty more that could be improved IMO.
