Moved to Washington last November and it's rained almost everyday along with snow and an ice storm. However, we do get a few good days before the dry months, so...no regrets

Wasn't sure if this fit better in the landscape or cityscape forums, so I'm uploading to both

Pleasing image, Greg. Western Washington has the best summers in America! The rest of year is…challenging lol. I was born in WA and lived there at various points in life for about 21 years total.

Cheers,
Ross

Thanks Ross. My wife and I are living with relatives in Pacific Beach while we trudge through escrow on a house in Ocean Shores and I work in Hoquiam, so I'm getting quite the exposure to Grays Harbor I love it though. I traded in hour long - ten mile commutes through concrete and ambulance-chaser billboards for 35 minute drives through forests and stunning scenery. Just mad I didn't do it sooner

Cheers!

Greg

It's so important that you love it - that's awesome! An absolutely inspiring state, top to bottom, left to right.

Thanks Bill. Oregon is full of stunning scenery as well. My Dad lived in Lebanon for many years. Probably the best drivable coastline in the west!

Nice image and landscape form works for me but you could have cross posted in cityscape too. In early 80’s lived in Bremerton for couple of years and boy does it rain!

Thanks. My wife lived in Bremerton for year as well. Yup, lots and lots of rain up here. But it looks like I left So Cal just in time to avoid a slew of atmospheric rivers and lots of rain and snow!

Beautiful Greg!
Beautiful state!
Hope you are enjoying your new home. Has to be less populated than California.

Hello Dan. Hope you are well.

We are enjoying our new temporary home (staying with family) and hoping to move into a our own place next month. The bigger cities here (Aberdeen) have more people than the coast, and have some of the same population density issues as the Los Angeles area, but on a much smaller scale. The coastal cities and towns have even fewer people and provide a very nice quality of life.

Cheers,

Greg

Welcome to the state Greg, just don't let the "secret" out about our summers. I've lived in many places, but when my wife and I returned to the states after working overseas WA was our only choice since we are "heat wimps". That was before global warming really set in and we've been so thankful we did.

Make sure you get up to the northern coast, and down into OR. Olympic NP is incredible. Of course the mountains are also great. While Mt. Rainier is iconic it is also crowded in the summer and eventually gets boring as a photo subject, esp. from the roadside viewpoints that are on postcards. It is much easier to escape the crowds and find sharp rocky peaks in the central, and esp. north Cascades.
