Just a tag as I am always looking for a new and better bag.
Currently like the Mindshift 13 cross bag for carry.

Yeah, the "idea" of a bag and everything it evokes is often better than the actual bag in hand. I have about four bags that I bought and have never used beyond my imagination

I’m sorry, what did you say? I was daydreaming 😂

I think is nothing wrong to try to find perfect bag.... we are a little bit like all this crazy women spending all the money for golden purse, which no man in the World care about

Is good to have some options

Manfrotto pl (pro light) 230

I even bought a second one and the smaller size pl 130 one when all shops in belgium where asking insane prices and low stock, i assumed it was gonna be end of life, my prediction was correct: I payed the lowest price it ever was (206€ for a normal 330 € one, especially the small one for 120€ was steal (normal 210).

Why this one? For me personally weight isn't a problem. It's how my body supports it. Shoulders must be spared, breast and stomach zone not. This backpack has the biggest waiste support i've ever seen and it works, it doenst hurt. On your back, there is a sort of spider web, that makes it not hard on your back, it's like 'flying' on your back, rather then resting. And it has breast support as wel, supper sturdy etc.

Finally backpack that can carry 10kg without feeling hurt for very very long time. And i'm set for life with two backups.

I've just tried Tenba Axis v2 today. I want to have a good backpack for A1 + grip and some lenses. But the problem with Axis v2 is only the 24L variant actually works for that. 20L and smaller are too narrow. So I'm puzzled...

20L would be the best choice otherwise.

I recently was looking for my OM-1 with grip + 150-400 and my Sony A1. I also looked at the Tenba Axis 20L but as you said, it didn’t quite work. I wanted top and side access and after looking at multiple bags, I ended up with the Lowepro ProTactic BP 450 AW II. I am quite happy with it as I can top load the OM-1 with the 150-400 attached and then have my EM5 MKiii with the 12-100 attached in one of the 2 side access spots. The bag is well thought out and reasonably light weight for its size. I bought mine at B&H, they had the best price at the time. The A1 with grip + 200-600 should also fit as it is about the same size as the OM1 combination.

I bought the Axis 16L (smallest one) specifically to carry just the A1/200-600 combo (non-gripped) and while it would have done that job fine I was not blown away by the design and build of the pack itself and ended up returning it. It's expensive for such a small pack and really doesn't offer much more (other than perhaps some vague tacticool cred) than something like the Mindshift Backlight 18 that I bought for less money and would recommend as a small pack. I also have the Tenba Solstice 10L sling that just about fits the A1/200-600, and while I have kept it I'm once again not really impressed with the Tenba build quality. Their bags just feel a bit cheap and flimsy overall with too many obvious small design features that would make life easier either missing or poorly implemented, like the bag was designed by bean counters instead of photographers.

And since we're on the subject of too many bags, here are the bags I've bought (new and used) over the past few months as I try to settle on a carry system for the A1/200-600:

Tenba Solstice Sling 10L (meh, I think I can still return)
Tenba Axis v2 16L (meh, returned)
Mindshift Backlight 18 (nice little backpack I'll use for travel)
Lowepro Pro Messenger 200AW (bought used, love the bag overall, gear fits but not ideal to work out of)
Think Tank Sling-O-Matic 10 (bought used and love the rugged, old-school TT build. Becoming my favorite urban carry for 200-600)
Domke Metro Messenger (bought used, still evaluating, huge but feels a bit weird design- and shape-wise TBH)

So there you have it -- six bags bought essentially for one purpose and I still haven't found the "perfect" one. This is a snapshot of the bag wormhole it's so easy to fall into Some I'll keep, one I returned, and some I'll sell on. Accepting offers!

I have Tamrac Expedition 7x and I bought it > 10 years ago. I've never used it, so it's brand new. But the backpack is pretty big even for 2 bodies with grips.

I just measured it and it's actually a bit smaller than the Tenba Axis v2 24l.
ok, the journey continues...

The Domke Next Generation bags weren't very popular. Too much padding, different hardware, too fancy. Target audience mostly wants the old school Domke bags. Ironically the Next Generation bags are discontinued and Tiffen sells just the traditional models and the new cordura backpack.

Yes, As I'm discovering! A Domke F2 was my first "proper" camera bag, but TBH those old-school Domkes with their boxy shape and awkward inserts are of absolutely no interest to me now, yet the company has seemingly also failed to come up with anything more modern and applicable to changing mirrorless systems. I guess if the old stuff still sells then why bother?

The Metro series looked good on paper and even externally, but the decision to go with some weird, proprietary divider material/system is baffling, as was the pricing (the Metro Messenger I bought for a song on Ebay cost close to $400 new IIRC, which is absurd).

My first impression for Osprey UNLTD Antigravity 32

- Height 23.23inch or 59 cm ( S/M ) - you can not make it smaller
- Quality is very good
- F-Stop Large PRO ICU fit perfect with some extra space at the top
- F-Stop Medium ICU give you even more space and fits also very good
- Tripod attach very well on the side of the bag
- Peak design clip ( it can be attached - but I wish I have option to put lower, so I am not sure if I will use this part of the strap - this need to be tested )
- With open zipper You have access to about half of the F- stop PRO Large ICU ( if is placed on a very bottom of this pack )

I will start to test this bag next week and then take to 1 week trip so I will carry and use at least 10 hours per day. But for now I really like quality of this bag

Thank you for the early impressions. Given the limited info on this, would you do a quick run-down of the similarities and differences between the 32 and the bigger version. I think some people are waiting on the review.

They just charged my card so mine might be here by the end of the week.

If You plan to do longer backpacking
- 68 l is the only choice
- material and comfort is the same ( this backpacks just hugs you - both of them )
- I was able to fit inside the 68 liters pack my f-stop Loka UL 37l with large Pro ICU and there was still some space for many extra items, but I must admit it was not easy to close the pack, so each time I needed take some time. With a little smaller ICU would be much easier I guess but I did carry too much equipment so I decided to use big ICU
- front pocket in 32 liters - I wish it has zipper from the top and no 1 inch mesh on the both sides of this pocket, so It could be much more useful for extra small items not just rain jacket ( but there is also one smaller pocket with zipper at the very front )
- in 68 liters there is 2 extra pockets at the front which fully extend no matter how full this bag is ( this is amazing I could put there running/hiking shoes plus some very small items )
- 68 liters bag has additional day pack in upper compartment which is crazy ( overall is like Roys Roys of the packs )
- 32 liters bag - I think many people who care about comfort should give it a try ( I do prefer back panel door like in shimoda or f-stop ) but I don't mind to change this as long as comfort will be much better ( I was always ok with comfort of camera bags but I still search for improvements )
- this backpacks use very strong material - much better than my f-stop and it also looks to me much better compare to Shimoda Explore v2 . This are really outdoor bags

Does it open like its big brother from the front? (clamshell)

Post a few images of the bag open, if you can.
Thank you

Does not open the same way, but it can open quiet wide. As I said - when is fully open I can see like half f-stop PRO ICU... for better access to full ICU you need to pull it out a little. Tomorrow I may add some photos to give you idea how this looks like

I did 8 miles in the WANDRD pack last week to The Wave. Took all my lenses (24-70, 70-200, 200-600) plus gallon of water and other snacks and my shoulders didn't hurt one bit after i got back. Granted it wasn't a ton of weight, and not a long haul, but i was impressed so far. Next week a 42mile, 3 nighter in this pack....

Will be curious to try the Osprey. However if the AG is like the others, eh. The new Atmos/Aura AG line is better than the OG ones (too "huge" on the hips for me - and a lot of people). The closest Osprey i have found to work is the Soelden line. The Kamber 42 was ok, but no adjustability.

Too bad it only opens half way. Somewhat mitigated by the lowepro gearup that fills the void and raises the main ICU up.

I bet the bag carries really well though. Have you tried the mystery ranch bridger 45 ? Similar concept but front opens fully.
