Who currently makes the best general purpose, "do it all" kit lens?

For a lot of photographers, this type of lens is all they ever use.

The options:
Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L - $1299
Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G - $1299
Sony FE 20-70mm f/4 G - $1099
Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 S - $1099

I listed two for Sony, since their new 20-70mm covers an additional 20% at the wide end, to make up for its shorter maximum focal length.

So if you could only have one of these lenses for general travel, hiking or holiday photography, which one would you go with? And which one is the worst value?

I think you’ll have a very limited audience that actually has hands on experience with more than one of those lenses so all their answers will be from ignorance.

Clearly the Nikon 24-120/4 has the greatest bang for the buck and I'm hoping Sony makes a similar lens when updating its venerable 24-105/4. I'd much rather have 15mm more at the long end than 4mm more at the wide end (and 35mm less at the long end). However, were Sony to make a 24-120/4 I'm sure it would cost about $1500

Not to mention that testing all of them on the same sensor will be a challenge. On different cameras there are too many other variables, so it is apples to oranges. 20-70 is the not the same as 24-1xx. I'd also throw the Canon 28-70/2 in the mix in that case.

None of them is the best standard zoom.

The best one to use would be the one that is the same brand as your camera.
