I tried to updated Denoise. It said invalid name or pw. I click ok and all it does is close the box. It does NOT give me a screen to change the PW. WTH? It is silly shit like this the gets me PO'd at topaz.

Did you go online and log into your account? You should see your eligible products and be able to D/L latest versions. You can recover the account if necessary.

You might want to give DxO's PureRAW a trial before shelling out for PhotoAI, which has de-noising incorporated into it. I prefer PureRAW even though I have used DeNoise and now PhotoAI for which I have a subscription for a few more months.

This is exactly what he needs to do, whether he chooses to or not. I don't know of many apps that will let you change your password right at the login in the app so that's a bit much for him to complain about that.

Kudos to EBH. I went to the accounts page and just downloaded and installed 2 updates. Both run. I am leery of PW changes because of problems with other sites. Most notably fb

RAW files from my 12mp D90 shot at ISO 3200 have plenty of noise to test denoise programs. Tonight I used Topaz DeNoise AI v3.7.1 on a file from Dec 2021 that I had previously used the then current Topaz DeNoise and Dxo Photolab 4.3.1 on for comparison. I can say today's DeNoise AI beats the DeNoise version active in Dec 2021, and both do better with noise than Photolab back then. (Probably pre-Prime and Deep Prime.)

For the month I've had DeNoise 3.7.1, I consistently get better results with the Low Light model than any of the other options, including RAW. (Though I feed it RAW files in any case.) I'm to the point where I just open a RAW file with DeNoise 3.7.1, select Low Light, output 100% quality jpeg, and sharpen the result with Topaz Sharpen AI.

I also got good results using the low light model. I ran an image (shot at 12,800) through ACR first, then sent it to DeNoise and used (if I remember correctly) low noise removal and low sharpening. Worked great (when I have time, I'll run it through as a NEF first, then to ACR and to Sharpen AI to see if there's much difference in the final result).

I would not purchase PureRaw 2 now. PureRaw 3 will be out next month. Who knows when but if you get it outside of the 30 version upgrade date DXO will not honour that. I'd hold off for now until V3 is announced.

Actually Topaz has been very responsive to my support requests. Photo AI did not have support for the R6II. I made a request and 10 days later it was there. LrC colour profile is Adobe Colour but files coming back from Photo AI were using Adobe Standard. I figured it should come back as the default and then users can pick their profile. I made a support request and the person who replied said they would pass that on to appropriate area. About 6 weeks later the profile was changed to Adobe Colour. I'm not sure any of those had anything to do with me but it was nice to see.

They have a bit more work to do but are very responsive on their forums. They have a road map.

I might get PureRaw 3 when it comes out next month. There as been some chatter about artefacts showing up using DeepPrime XD but with PL6 you can tune lens sharpening. You can't using PureRaw. You can just turn it off. I'm curious to see what other adjustments PureRaw 3 will offer. I'm happy with PureRaw 2. I'll give Topaz a year and see where they are at when my renewal for Photo AI.

A little bit off-topic, but do you have/use PhotoLab 6 and PureRaW?
If so what's the the benefit of having both. I always thought PureRaw is just a subset of PhotoLab (noise reduction and lens profiles)

I have PureRaw 2 which only has DeepPrime. Annual upgrade cycle for PureRaw is March I suspect it will have DeepPrime XD.

I only pointed that if someone buys PureRaw 2 today and PureRaw 3 comes out let's say March 25, you will have to pay for the upgrade to PureRaw 3. DXO gives you 30 days. If you purchase a product and it is within 30 days of the annual upgrade then you will get the upgrade. Outside of 30 days you don't get the upgrade. Same thing for PL. 30 days but that is not until fall.

Pardon the maybe simple question but you seem very advanced with post processing. I use DeNoise only. I am on the older side of things and coming back to learn all the advancements in this field. My workflow is LR to Denoise and that's about it.

For Photo AI, is it possible to use, say, DeNoise and not Sharpen? I am interested in a sharpening app but I do not want to have to sharpen each photo that I also denoise.

I am unsure if I should just get the Topaz Sharpen standalone, the Photo AI if I can use one or the other, or both at the same time or punt the ball and try PureRaw3

Thank you for any help if that all makes sense

Photo AI is very limited in controls compared to the older indepednt programs. I have no idea what is the Topaz mental process for making it so basic. The Autopilot is BS.
I'm using the DeNoise separately but it does add some selective sharpening.
They really need to have an "advanced" mode in the Photo AI so that we can control the denoising, sharpening and upscaling properly.
