Not here, but had lots of complaints with my groundhog render being being low quality where I shared it. Thought I would start with a high res input this time to get a better result. May not stay of this binge for long but so long as I am on it, I might as well try to do better.

I like the second version best, Lyle. I wonder how the first version will look like leaving just the eye untouched (just the natural eagle's eye, if possible).

Lyle,

Is the "oil" from the original image, or is the "oil" in addition to / after the OP?

Curious to see how much difference there would be from two different starting points on the oil application.

I toyed with using the original as a background for the dots and it actually looked nice, Socrate, but decided to leave the results as only dots (i.e. remain pure to the intent).

As for the second version, I actually started from scratch. Used several different programs and plugins for the result. Took the better part of 30 minutes to complete because I'm not an AI. lololol

As for working artistically with the dots in creative ways, I actually did toy with that, too, Kent (but not with this circlism result) and got pretty good results as well (not sharing). Still, I'll leave dots as dots and paintings as paintings. lol
