Hi Dan -
Yes, much of Switzerland has public water nearly everywhere. In some cases there is a sign not to drink, but most cities and towns have fountains free flowing most of the year.
A few places we’ve stayed in the alps have the absolute best tasting water, and Zürich’s is quite good compared to our old home in Vermont - so it’s weird to come back from holiday and be grumpy about the water.
I think Zürich has 1200 some fountains.

Is it city provided water?
The reason I ask is that my grandfather lived in a town in N. Iowa. There was no city drinking water because of sulphur. If you wanted sweet pure drinking water, one had to go to a natural spring outside the city, fill a bucket and store in a cool place to drink.
