Thanks.
Oh man, I was banished from the house for special ‘projects’. I too took apart my bike many times. Until I couldn’t get it together and had to pay allowance money to get it properly fixed.
I also love that these are worn and have a bit of pitting and rust on them. They are smoother in some places than others. I heard somewhere no matter how nice your kitchen knives - if you never sharpen them you aren’t really cooking. I applied that to my planes and chisels, and my dad applied it to his tools. Even after he was in management he would come home far dirtier than any of his crew. He just couldn’t not work with his hands.

Yeah, but CB is part of the story, too. It's like having one of HSB's or Adams' camera, or the camera that went to the moon.
Dig on the "soft wear" patina, in the knurling, etc. Might be lost on some folks, but as hard as that iron is, it takes a lot of use to soften the knurling like that. It's kinda like the brassing of a well loved camera, but wearing through paint and brass is a whole lot easier than wearing down iron.
Dig the backstory, and as to the focus stacking "glitches" ... they don't interfere with the story, so whatever you're seeing as technical glitches, they didn't become detractors that I can see.
Now, about that one you took apart ... ha, ha ... reminds me of the time I tore apart my mother's stereo console, and she came home to find it strewn about the floor in pieces. Fortunately, I got it back together, but she and dad weren't too ... well, let's just say, I had a lesson, too.
Although, I did go on to disassemble one of my bikes in my room with white carpet. Different lesson. Something about black grease and white carpeting. Must have been my entry into Black and White creativity.
Anyway, nice set....Show more →
