This is an image of a pujari (priest) as he performs his rituals during the morning pujas at the Dussehra Festival in Northern India. I managed to catch him as he turned twice, offering prayers to his God who is in the background. There were two things that I found interesting: The first is that he was a very sweet and normal young fellow before he started his ritual prayers. We had a nice little exchange to the extent that we understood each other. But the moment he started his prayers, he went into a trance-like state. You can see that in his eyes, which have a kind of faraway look to them.

I agree 100% with Parul on your backstories Charles!
I find these religions extremely interesting and the figures of the "gods" intriguing as well!

Thanks, Dan. Yes, the culture is so different than what I am used to, but I feel somehow drawn to it. Each village has its own God that looks after its members. When the Gods get together, it is quite a powerful occasion!
