Snowy owls are active during the day sometimes hunting yet they also spend hours sitting watching the world go by. Late in the day they always do a last hunt and before this they stretch just as an athlete dose before there activity. This was the second time the owl stretched in the last hour before sunset and this time the sun was very close to the horizon.

Great photographs. The light really shows off the whole scene. The last one is my favorite for the pose.

I had visited my usual Snowy Owl spot out here over the weekend but not seen any yet!
Looks like I need to be a bit more patient.

This bird has a great personality as you noticed with the last photo. It was clearly interacting with us. The enviroment was so parity that I used it in my photos

What gorgeous light you captured with these wonderful poses! #2 amazes me in the body up to wing area, looks like storm clouds reaching upward and building into a thunderhead

Love that shot and that little laser eye you caught.
