Hello friends,

In my first publication of this year I want to share some photographs of hummingbirds that I took in Ecuador with natural light and with multiflash.

Which of the two techniques is your favourite?

This is a stunning set Javier. There are a couple where the flowers seem to have caught too much light yet the bird looks fine in the image.

I used to do a lot of flash work yet recently it's been mostly natural light for me. I'm just starting my journey with humming birds and have tried both ways. I can't say I have a preference.

With the exception of just a couple of shots, it is hard to tell which are flash and which are natural and that is a good thing in my opinion. Lovely, lovely set .

Regardless of how you illuminated them, these are all superb images.
I cannot tell which are flashed and which are natural light, and that is as it should be.
I usually like a small amount of wing blur when the bird is flying, so that favors natural light.
I also don't like the sparkle that sometimes shows up in flashed photos.

These are all beautiful images. My favorite is the sapphire-vented puffleg.
Is that natural light or flashed? Looks natural to me.

This is a fantastic series... TFS... And as everyone has pointed out, it is hard to distinguish which one is natural light vs flash, and that is exactly how it should be...

That said, if I were to just make a wild guess, I would say 2 and 8 are natural light, and I do have a slight preference for the lighting in those...
