Not all the guests at the Eagle Buffet were able to claim a meal on their first try, or even their second or third. This unfortunate guest had to try several times before securing the main course (or was it dessert?) in its talons.
Getting enough food out in the wild can be a life-or-death struggle. Is the energy expended worth several tries? The results could be a large meal or maybe a small morsel. We watched a number of eagles dive several times without results before they returned to their favorite tree to roost and recover before trying again.
I realize this is a butt shot, but I think it tells a sobering story -- it's survival of the fittest out there in the wild!
