Just dipping a toe into the waters as an adjunct to the Sony kit.

OM-1 , Oly 100-400 and 12-45 F4 Pro

I wanted a compact kayaking/hiking kit. The launch of the OM1 MkII means the MK I pricing is really attractive.

I would pick up a 150-400 here but just have some doubts about m4/3 and not loving the control interface yet.

I came from years of Sony and very quickly adapted and prefer the OM-1 menu, especially the Super Control Panel, 4 Custom shooting modes on the dial versus 3, and lots of customizable buttons. I moslty shoot via the ezxcellent EVF so i have the SCP default to On.

I also find the Custom Menu functionality much easier to use then Sony and the ease of navigating from Menu Tab to Tab and within a Tab.

Hope you are able to soon enjoy the different experience

Thanks - my favorite controls are still the Fuji X-Tx dedicated dials. The Sony A1 / A9 controls in practice are pretty close. I want to figure out how to easily adjust aperture, ISO, exposure comp and shutter speed on the fly to get comfortable.

Looks like I'll need to program some buttons with only two wheels to play with.

Took the OM-1 / 100-400 out for a dog walk today. One thing I absolutely love is the ability to shoot long one handed if needed. With a leash, the camera, a full poopy bag all to juggle and then spotting a juvenile eagle meant I had to grab a few quick snaps one handed.

No problem with this kit.

Struggled to get the exposure adjusted on the mature eagle. Oh well... I'll figure it out.

My OM-1 and 12-40/2.8 Pro II are almost inseparable for my travel & hiking photography. For interior images and occasional UWA landscape I have the PL 9/1.7 and am very happy with it. I rarely used my CV15 on e-mount so I find the PL 9 (18) is plenty wide for my landscape and interior compositions and 1.7 makes a big difference w/ ISO.

I have the 15/1.7 as a walkaround prime if I want to leave the 12-40 behind at night. The PL9 It is just slightly larger then the PL15.

I'm swapping my gf7 for a g100 as our little camera. I dislike pseudo-IS with small bodies, but my Lumix zooms cover a good range with PowerOIS and the sensor + feature set is nice. The EM1.ii can do the rugged, weather resistant work and its ibIS can take the extreme low-light shots.
