File name is changing first character to an underscore

Recently all my files come in with the first letter changed to an underscore.

This started on 11/26/2022
Canon R5
Files downloaded with the canon software
Computer is a PC with Windows

I haven't changed anything on my computer or camera to cause this.

You changed the default color mode in the camera.

I don't remember changing it. I would assume I want it on the Adobe RGB?

Why does it need to add the Underscore? Can I disable that?

Are you shooting raw or just jpeg? if you're shooting raw, the color space you choose only affect the preview and the in camera histogram and any video you might shoot. And if you're only shooting jpegs, you're likely better off setting the camera to sRGB anyway.

The underscore is the industry standard format. You could change it if you are using an import software that allows renaming.

My photography is 100% shot in RAW.

Very seldom use it for video and when I do, Its just for me and nothing serious.

Canon RAW files have been like that for about 20 years in aRGB mode.

Interesting. I have been shooting a digital Canon for 16 years and this is new to me. I must have been on sRGB for that entire time until a month ago? Not sure how it got switched?
