‘Tis the time of the year of days crisp and cold here in Iceland. From late November until the beginning of February, the sun stays low over the southern horizon. A clear day often favours conditions that are ripe for sublime light and long, enchanting twilight hours.

It's cold, yes, but I reckon it's colder in Minneapolis, Northern Michigan, Buffalo, and Toronto than here in Reykjavík. The Gulf Stream moderates temperatures here. The North of Iceland and the Highlands are much colder.

A wonderful variety of Iceland images, Rajan. The first is my favorite. It reminds me of scenes in the United States desert southwest. So beautiful!

Parul - thanks. Yes, your accommodation is visible.

David - thanks. The landscapes of Death Valley often create similar emotional imprints as those experienced in Iceland.

I am sorry I have not replied to your blog post my friend. Many medical appointments down in the "swamp"(Washington,DC) area and it is like driving on a NASCAR raceway even at 70mph in the slow lane!!

All this was in Iceland? I really thought I was in Namibia. Nr is my picture from Namibia what ever you said. It is my best!
