Pretty surprised by the sunstars and lack of flare which to me are pretty important. Would like to see more samples during sunset but so far great pics.

This would make an amazing light hiking/traveling lens if i wouldn't want to take the 20 1.8g which i so adore. I guess my GAS has to calm down soon

i am still looking at the voigtlander 35 apo next ugh the GAS!

I was pretty surprised by the stars as well as I've been using it, they can get pretty crisp. The only issue I've had with shooting into the sun is occasionally getting reflections from the sensor in the image. Pretty rare and only when I'm shooting dead on into it.

The bokeh as well was better than I was expecting. Mine has a little onion ring, but I haven't minded at all. I don't have a lot of lenses to compare it with, but it's much nicer looking than my 40G 2.5 that I like so much.

Thanks for sharing that Mike, I downloaded and used your lens correction profile for this image. It looks great!

I shot this image to test sunstars and flare. I purposely left the little bit of flare in the image. I can't comment on the sunstar, as sunstars are not my thing, but flare control on this lens looks quite impressive.

Nice sunstars. I think I may stay with my 16-35 / 75 and just rent a 24-70 for a gig. Kinda need 2.8 for gig work but travel im all in on F4 lenses. Love these focal lengths though a 20-70 is unique

I am so happy with this lens still. I wasn't really all that interested in it for the added wide angle with it going to 20mm, but I find I use it more than I expected. The weight is growing on me too, still easy enough to bring the A7IV and this on a chairlift for some Mt Bachelor summit pics. The 20-70 being shorter than the 28-200 I'm used to makes it easier to get in and out of my sling bag with gloves on too. Which is good because despite the sun being out, it was COLD up top.

The lack of a LR lens profile yet hasn't really been an issue either, easy enough to correct the few times I notice an issue.

WOW! These are amazing.

I’m currently renting this lens, and really loving it. I too find I’m using the 20mm end far more than I thought I would. Haven’t reviewed the images on laptop yet, but as for now, I’m really digging this lens despite it being f4. And I’m generally not at all fond of zoom lenses, but the focal length range, the size/weight, and an aperture ring too! I’m just having a blast playing with it!

Same, it just checks so many boxes for what I needed as an every day go anywhere lens. Just picked up a Sigma 100-400 this morning, so I can cover all the focal range I need with only two lenses. Looks like it will all fit in my PD Sling bag too, so still relatively easy to carry.
