I'm confused. There wasn't a FW update available when I got my lens last month. Did they already release one?

In the utility software it does say new update. I just could not get it. I was able to adjust the focusing. So that part was weird

Okay I got the 28-75 and the 20-40 firmware updated to Version .02

Okay the secret is USB=C to USB-C directly to computer. I have a M1 Mac 14 in. Do not go into your hub

Finally got the test in the can. The Tammy looks just about perfect on LCD. The 14mm look’s centered as well. I will post tonight. Seriously it’s a buy it

Okay let's rock this . This test was with my New A7IV and right out of the gate I like the colors from this cam. At least coning into C1 the profile is very nice indeed

Back to the Sony 20-40 at 20,24,28,35,40 . Yea I tested the crap out of it.

So as far as distortion it is quite good and an easy fix. I will do both here

At 20mm at F4

Here is fixed the distortion but I was slightly off but at least you can see its pretty good

Anyway we can work on that a little later. But let's get to the heart of it. Tripod 2 second sleep to settle camera . Shot totally on manual with magnification on max for focus. These are 33mpx files. I did clean up the vignetting and lighten as needed . Sharpness is basic

2.8 looks good . Maybe a slight decrease on right side and I mean slight

F4 much better but let's try 5.6. Just crops

5.6 looks great but I could be slightly left of center . Not enough for my concern though

Let's see if 24mm is better. As you all figured out by now. Im moving the camera back as we go so I may adjust better. Its not a square building per say

24mm is much better and also at 20mm im looking up very slightly as I can't get the camera higher on line. So that could be as im focusing squarely on that metal band going across.

24mm looks great

Lens is centered looking at that 24mm 2.8 on right side . Lets look at F4 at 24mm

Yea I think at 20mm it was more me being off, and I kind of saw it with focus peaking
