Get the RF100-400mm. A marriage made in heaven - very fast AF and excellent sharpness.

A good copy of the Tamron should be a decent performer. You can read one review and compare it to your 70-300L (or other lenses) here:

Since you have an R6 you might also consider the Canon RF 100-400, which is currently on sale for $499:

It is slower but lighter. Since you can use it without an adapter, it will be smaller to pack and maybe better balanced in use. It has limited options for a tripod collar though.

Also, the copy I had of the Tamron 100-400mm when I had a DSLR was soft and the AF slow. I think it's no contest between it and the RF100-400mm.

Looks like Dustin Abbott, Ken Rockwell and others did reviews on the Tamron, might be hard to argue against the rf 100-400 though.
Others in the price range are 100-400 v1, and 150-600 C and other 150-600's. They are heavier, though
Wasn't going to post on fm today but it's pouring rain, for one thing.
Thanks all but the f/8 is the major problem for me where the Tamron is 6.3. I can get a nice and clean Tamron for $400. Hoping someone with a R Canon and the 100-400 Tamron can give me some yes or no.
