This photo was taken at Kissena Park here in New York City after the sun went down. It always amazes me how swans and ducks paddle around while sleeping. I understand that some birds sleep while flying on long migratory flights.

Heck, I see people sleeping while driving all the time. What's a swan have to worry about.

Beautiful shot Morris. I never knew some birds could sleep while in flight. That's incredible.

A swan could collide with a duck while paddling and sleeping. I suspect the swan would be fine

Sleeping birds is even wilder: swifts, who might go 10months without landing (!) sleep the left and right half of their brains separately

Beautiful. The autumn leaves take this to the next level and you composed it perfectly to showcase them, keeping the swan in the rule of thirds sweet spot.
