With the sudden drop in temperature and gusty winds, I went to Oakland Lake as it's in a sheltered ravine. I was treated two some lovely warm spots as well as places where the wind was howling and lots of water fowl that also headed to the lake to stay warm. In staying warm, I discovered that the gloves I was using last year seem too thick for me to feel my camera controls and I struggled to opperate it with frequent failure to trip buttons or hitting the wrong one. One of the wrong one's was the record button and I got a lovely video of me saying "What the xxxx?" With all that going on a managed to do everything correctly when the wood ducks blasted off.

Very nice! I hate having to wear gloves and have yet to find any that are perfect for photography! Learned a hard lesson in Yellowstone one winter….

Nice double on the males here Morris. It has been outrageously windy here as well! Pretty colors nice shot!

If I tried that speed on these little rockets... well.. I have before and they didn't turn out so good.
