Brrrrrrrrrr, I just came in from a cold and windy lake and seeing snow did not warm me up :-}

I love the mood of that first image. 3, 4 and 5 are my favorites. The light snow in the last two adds a nice feel with the fall color in the background

Thanks Joshua. I almost didn't post that one. I was afraid the snow was to heavy. At times it was coming down so fast you could not see the elk. Thanks for looking and commenting.

As I understand it, someone asked for snow

You have a great set of images here John, some with snow, one with intense snow and a nice grouping of multiple Elk in various moments. The wood line in the BG is like a nice dark curtain of color and gives these all some 3D dimension.
1 Great expression of the setting at that moment, dark with snow and quiet and still. Great capture
2 Nice POV looking up to this bull about to bugle it looks like
3 Nice head turn grab, the snow on the back is telling the story
4 Impressive display of that thick rack, again nice feel in depth and a nice setting
5 Great ready to spar shot with nice eye contact from each. Looks like the guy on the right has a little previous experience in this situation
6 Geeesh that is just a calming pretty image. Simple but filled with things to appreciate, good eye seeing this one

7 Look like he has a gal interested!
8 Yup it's on

Love the snow with a the little splash of color from the flowers. Very much like your choice on the stretched pano aspect for #5. I think that works really well on that capture. And I REALLY love that monster bull in #7 & 8. Wow what a bruiser! I assume he was the dominant bull in that area?

Hi Morris. I knew before we left it was gonna be cold, but was not expecting that much wind. I have a few shots like the first one, I was afraid the snow was so heavy viewers wouldn't be able to understand what was happening in the image. We wanted snow but you gotta be careful what you wish for

Great set of images and well done. I tend to get down to Benezette a couple times each year. Seeing your images makes me want to get back down there. My last trip in Oct I did not see many elk in the usual spots; had me wondering where they were.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate you taking the time to look and comment ! I didn't even notice the small flowers when shooting, but it was a nice surprise. I was disappointed with not seeing many elk and few big bulls. On our last morning there after trying 3-4 other spots we stumbled on a nice group. I think I counted 13 or 14 Bulls of varying size in a herd of about 40- 50 Elk. The bull in the last two was the dominant one. He chased off all the other males. It kept getting colder and starting snowing. I'm not sure what happened, the cold and snow seemed to spark a flurry of mating. While the big guy was " busy '' the other guys got the chance the were waiting for. It was a memorable morning for sure !

Great set. I really like the third shot with the tree branches in the background almost like a twisted continuation of his antlers.
