There are some creeks near my house where the bears come out to fish for salmon during the salmon run, so I headed out one day and was greeted by this scene. I was confused at first, as it looked like she had two tails, but then I realized what it was. She was thoughtfully returning her digested salmon back to the creek, whence it came. Isn't nature grand?

I wish I had a stream near my house with visitors like that. I'm just a little envious.

I stepped on a pile of rotting salmon while hiking into another bear viewing spot and didn't realize until I got back into my car! the smell was err...spellbinding!
