This Barred had been calling to a mate behind me when it finally flew to join it. I anticipated its launch a little and slowed my shutter speed more than the usual 1/2000, caught the eye fairly well and the wing blurred enough to make it look like It was flying a little faster.

Love it. You caught that Barred's face and eyes sharp as a tac, and the slower shutter gives the wings the nice sensation of movement. The beautiful blue background makes the owl stand out, and you got some nice catch lights in those shiny dark eyes. Beautiful, that should be a nice print on your wall.
