p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · What might be done?

A friend has asked for help in restoring/improving this faded print. No negative available.
My PS skills are limited although I am willing to try to extend them.
What kind of outcome might be possible with this image with a few hours of work?
would you try to reconstruct some pattern on the woman's dress?
What strategies?
With the RAW capture there are areas on virtually no detail.
Crop size/is not crucial and BW/colorized/toned interpretations are OK

Thx
Scott

My advice would be to take it to a professional photo restorer if you really want a job well done.

I played a bit with it just to see what could be done. Some improvements but spending some more time you can get better results.

The first thing you need to do is a B&W conversion and then go from there. I will play a bit more see what I can do and let you know.

thanks Socrate
Pretty much the direction and outcome I have come up with so far but with crop to 8x10 format and building a bit of info on the left of the woman so she is not up against the edge.

That would be easy to do. Select the right side of the photo and duplicate it. Flip it horizontally and place it on the left side. You need to do some cleaning job with the cloning tool. to get a n 8x10 you are going to need to crop a bit on top.

+1 = Pro

Took a stab ... learning endeavor.

I think there are pieces here / there that respond differently. Will be a labor of love (pro) to understand the different areas (vs. global) and how to bring out the most of them, individually.
